Survey on Child Development at Northwestern University
New research on child development reveals that young children do
something that we find fascinating: sometimes they will try to fit
their bodies into objects that are way too small for them. For example,
a child might try to sit in a doll's chair or put on a doll's shoe. Our
study is an online survey that will ask you if you have ever seen a

and new knit shirt
I can't be the first one this has happened to. The silly putty is going
in the garbage, but I'd like to rescue the shirt if at all possible,
first day he's worn the darned thing. Why is it two different people
thought my child needed Silly Putty? I knew he didn't!

Advice about summer work?
I'm just posting my thoughts, see what some other parents think about my
situation.
I'm the single father of my 19mo son. I'm currently finishing off a year of
study in University (have finals coming up at end of month), so I'm now off

1 yr old tantrums
My 1 yr old DD has recently been throwing what we think are tantrums. Not
every night, but on some nights when she's put into her crib after her
bottle, she screams at the top of her lungs. It sounds like a tantrum.
Last night she did it and we let her go. After about 20 minutes, she
settled down and fell asleep so we knew it wasn't anything like needing more

help- need to get 7 month old to take med
Any tips out there on how to get a determined 7.5 month old to take her
antibiotic? (ear infection) We are on our 2nd course and she initially
would take it from the dropper without too much fuss, but now screams,
wiggles, grabs the dropper, shakes her head side to side, clamps her
mouth shut and spits out what does make it in. And we have another 9
days to go....

Bird making its nest over our lamp shade
Not sure the right forum to ask this..
A little bird has made its nest at my doorstep(outside my house) on the
lampshade. She (I think) is sitting inside that since many days and not
even scared if I go close to her.
I am guessing she is sitting on eggs.
Wondering if anything I can do to help her? Could I throw some bird

future of their young children, what are the investment choices
that you have either made or recommend?

Umbrella Strollers
I'm just curious if anyone knows of a brand/model of umbrella stroller that
has longer handles (to accomodate a taller person) than normal? Or even
whether or not such an object exists?
I currently have a more deluxe stroller with jumbo oversized tires (that
don't turn - great for winter, and jogging). It's too big to fit down the

Are black baseball pants considered to be "softball
