Washing light-up shoes.
Are kids' shoes with blinking lights washable? My daughter had a pee
accident in them. Simple surface washing is not an option.
Thanks,

Review: Fever Pitch (** 1/2)
FEVER PITCH
A film review by Steve Rhodes
Copyright 2005 Steve Rhodes
RATING (0 TO ****): ** 1/2
FEVER PITCH, a romantic comedy about a pair of lovers with different
obsessions, stars a never prettier Drew Barrymore and a rarely nerdier Jimmy
Fallon. Barrymore plays Lindsay, a charming but not especially convincing
workaholic, who is said to work ninety hours a week b... more >>

TURTLES CAN FLY
A film review by Steve Rhodes
Copyright 2005 Steve Rhodes
RATING (0 TO ****): * 1/2
TURTLES CAN FLY (LAKPOSHTHA HÂM PARVAZ MIKONAND), a joint Iran-Iraq
production, is a pretty pointless and shamelessly manipulative story about
kids living in a remote Kurdish refugee camp. Although the Kurds were the
most oppressed people during Saddam Hussein's long an... more >>

Way OT: Slow Cooker / Crockpots
I apologize for the OT, but this is just about the only group I post to
where this subject might even be remotely considered on topic.
I believe in the past some of you have discussed using a Crockpot (or
Slow Cooker) to get dinner on the table. I was just wondering...
I have a Rival Crockpot that has the following settings: off, low, high
and warm. This is the kind of Crockpot t... more >>

jogging stroller question
We've looked at a ton of jogging strollers, we heard a lot of great things
about Bob, but my wife
doesn't like it because it doesn't recline very far. The quality didn't
really seem to be any better
than any of the less expensive strollers either, plus no drink holder
(unless you want to pay more
$$$ for the attachment) For that price, at least include some minimal
accessories.

The Story About the Toddler, Volume 24.
The Story About the Toddler, Volume 24.
by Jeff Vogel
Our daughter Cordelia just turned three. I still call her a toddler,
although she really isn't. She doesn't toddle. She runs.
A child turning three is a big change, in a way. She's not two anymore.
Two year-olds have this horrible reputation for being difficult and
obnoxious, a reputation that is entirely justified. Saying that m... more >>

How do you respond?
Took DD12 and DD10 bathing suit shopping today. Wanted to get them
practical speedo's that could hold up to chlorine. DD12 insisted on
trying on the most adorable bikini. She puts it on, she looks
absolutely fabulous (too fabulous for a 12 year old, ahem).
Then she grimaces, pinches her thighs, and says, "But, I

Saint Robert Bellarmine says, "When a child is born, the child learns
to respond to those who are taking care of the child. The child uses
routine as a teaching block for what to expect next, when certain
things are practiced. A child responds after a certain time when a
routine is now part of the mentality of the child, and it is easier on
everyone."

Teens: what do you do when their friends are troubling?
DD10 has been best friends with this girl since kindergarten. She has
always been a sweet, wonderful kid, until the last year or so. Her
parents are going through a pretty sordid divorce, and I know that has
a lot to do with her recent change in behavior, which I see as a form
of crying out for attention. Also, this child is maturing faster than
the other girls. She has discovered boys in... more >>
